3/3/13 - Boulder River
8.6 miles/4.5 hours
The hike that inspired this blog! And it’s name: the hike was muddy, but really fun. By the end of it, we didn’t really care how muddy we got, because keeping clean was pretty much a lost cause. The formerly white socks I was wearing will never quite be the same. The elevation gain was minimal, so the tricky parts of the hike came from maneuvering over rocks, logs, muddy spots, and little streams heading down the river. It was a beautiful mix of hiking right next to the river and getting some elevation over it. Lots of nice views of the surrounding mountains, especially with snow-covered trees. Such a great way to spend a March Sunday.
Miles this year: 13 (I’ll post last weekends hike later)
